About Westview Theatre Company

The Westview Theatre Company is a Westview High School club run as an entirely extracurricular program with no affiliation with Westview drama classes (though you are encouraged to take them!). Club meetings are held during lunch in the theater and are run by the Westview Theatre Company student council. Play auditions, rehearsals and performances are held after school.

The Company is involved in the California Educational Theatre Association, is a registered member of National Youth Arts and attends the annual Fullerton College High School Theatre Festival and Convention.

Always excited to welcome new faces, the Company invites everyone – regardless of previous experience – to be involved.

Chris Wollman has been working with the Westview Theatre Company for two years, and, along with 2011-2012 Westview Theatre Company director Kristen Nevarez, was named Outstanding Director by National Youth Arts for two consecutive years. The 2011 Westview production To Kill a Mockingbird was remounted Main Stage for the 2011 California Educational Theatre Association annual conference.

Chris has successfully coached students through auditions and interviews for colleges and universities (public, private, and arts-based) and numerous local competitions. He is a graduate of San Diego State University, and has auditioned and worked at The Old Globe among other San Diego theaters.

Parent Alliance

The Westview Theatre Alliance is the parent support group for the Company. A volunteer board manages the finances, publicity, and behind-the-scenes business required to support the Theatre Company.

The Alliance meets once a month, and the meetings are open to all parents and others who wish to support the theatre arts at Westview High School. Email WVTheatreCo@gmail.com for more information.

The non-profit club is funded by ticket sales, fundraising, donations, and the support of local vendors and educational theater lovers. All donations can be registered as a tax write-off with an appropriate receipt. Contact the board at WVTheatreCo@gmail.com for more info.
